Un de mes potes fait un projet Porsche à son école, j´ai donc voulu y aller de mon petit dessin.

C´est aussi l´occasion de montrer ma technique actuelle avec 5-6 feutres, un Bic et 40 minutes, le rendu est fait de A à Z.

A friend of mine is doing Porsche project at his school so that gave me the envy to sketch one. Also it´s to show my current technique which works very quickly, 5-6 markers, one pen, 40 minutes to do the complete render.

J'ai enfin repris la 3D de la moto, vu qu'il faut que j'avance comme la maquette échelle 1 va bientôt être commencée aux USA. 3 heures de travail environ, voila la tête de fourche quasiment finie (manque un rayon tout autour de la pièce).

I've finally restarted the 3D of the bike as I've met a guy who's going to build it, and the full size model is starting pretty soon in USA. About 3 hours of work on the front fairing but it's mostly done (one filer all around the part remaining to be done).

Plusieurs semaines sont passées et pas une seule nouvelle, pas un seul nouveau dessin, rien...

Pourtant j'ai été actif! J'ai travaillé, dessiné, déménagé (deux fois), commencé un nouveau job...

Donc voilà un peu quelques news :

- je ne travaille plus chez Land Rover (Juillet - Septembre 2010)

- j'ai quitté l'Angleterre pour repasser chez mes parents

- j'ai vendu ma Camaro achetée chez les britons

- j'ai accepté un nouvel emploi chez Opel

- j'ai déménagé en Allemagne, à Dietzenbach, et mon job est à Rüsselsheim

- j'ai eu en cadeau un nouvel ordinateur pour avancer les 3D d'un de mes projets qui va bientôt être prototypé

- j'ai dessiné plusieurs motos pour le magazine l'Intégral (parution Septembre 2010)

Voici donc les principales nouvelles de ces dernières 6 semaines. Ah si, j'oubliais, j'ai fêté mes 24 ans, et les 50 de mon Papa également (encore Joyeux Anniversaire!).

Donc je recommence une série de posts avec des dessins par un portrait vu que je veux travailler mes personnages sur lesquels j'ai de grosses lacunes. Comme je tiens beaucoup au modèle je vais essayer de ne pas rater le rendu...

Several weeks went by and no news, no sketch, nothing... But it's not I haven't done anything! I've worked, sketched, moved (twice) and worked at a new job...

So here are a few news :

- I don't work anymore at Land Rover (July-September 2010)

- I've left England to come by my parents house

- I've sold the Camaro I bought in UK

- I got an offer from Opel, that I accepted

- I've moved to Germany, in Dietzenbach, with my job at Rüsselsheim

- I got a new computer as a gift to work and finish some 3D for a project I've developed and it's going to prototyping

- I've sketches several motorbikes for a bike magazine (l'Intégral, in stores in September/October 2010, in France)

So those are the most recent news of the past 6 weeks. Ah yes I almost forgot, I also turned 24 (didn't celebrate it much though) and celebrated my father's 50th anniversary (Happy Birthday again dad!).

So I'm starting a new series of articles with sketches, the first one being a portrait as I'm not very good at sketching human beings so I practice. I shouldn't screw it as the model fo the portrait is very important for me :)

Il y a quelques années, j'ai fait un projet lors d'un stage chez Toyota (visible sur mon site, pour les curieux). Je le reprends pour en refaire le design et l'améliorer, pour ensuite aller plus loin avec D, vidéo, animation, etc.

A few years back, I did a project at Toyota during an internship. The curious people can check it out on the website. I'm resketching it to improve it and then move to the next stage with 3D, vidéo and animation.

Petit bonus: d'ici quelques jours j'aurai une nouvelle voiture (fonctionnelle j'entends parce que la elle marche franchement mal...) donc je posterai quelques photos.

Salut tout le monde. Je tiens d'abord à m'excuser pour le gros manque de dessins sur le blog depuis bientôt deux mois. J'ai des trucs un peu partout qui sont en cours de réalisation, mais je ne finis rien.

J'ai commencé mon premier vrai job de designer auto au studio Advanced de Land Rover, en Angleterre. Vu que le planning est bien chargé, je n'ai quasiment plus de temps pour dessiner mes projets persos, mais je tâcherai quand même de poster de nouvelles choses prochainement.

La moto, notamment, avance tranquillement avec la phase 3D qui est en cours.

Hi everyone. I first want to apologize for the lack of news and sketches recently on the blog. I have things started everywhere and no time to finish them, or no patience maybe.

I started my first real designer's job at the Land Rover Advanced Design Studio in UK. As the planning is really full, that doesn't leave me much time to work on my own personal projects but I will try to post some new things in a near future.

The bike, for example, goes forward slowly in 3D phase.

Voila la couleur est finie. J'ai mis pas mal de temps pour arriver à un résultat propre et bien brillant, et aussi pour choisir la couleur de la moto.

Je tiens à m'excuser pour le manque de mises à jour récemment. Depuis une dizaine de jours, j'ai travaillé sur Paris puis je suis parti pour un entretien d'embauche en Angleterre, donc pas trop de temps libre pour dessiner.

Pour me faire pardonner, voilà donc un des dessins additionnels pour Pacific Motors. La compétition s'est terminée il y a une semaine environ et c'est un compatriote Pierre Gimbergues qui l'a emportée, devant mon pote Olivier Poulet (son blog est dans mes liens, n'hésitez pas à y faire un tour). Félicitations à eux deux donc et bon courage à Olivier qui vient de trouver un job! Comme quoi l'économie repart visiblement.

I want to apologize for the lack of updates recently. For around 10 days, I've been off the grid working in Paris and then in England for a job interview, so I didn't get much free time to sketch.

To seek forgiveness, I post a sketch done for the Pacific Motors competition. It's over by the way, and a french mate won it, Pierre Gimbergues, followed closely by my buddy Olivier Poulet (his blog is in my links, go check it out). Congrats to both of them and good luck to Olivier who just got a job offer. Looks like the economy is getting better.

Depuis quelques jours, le nouveau numéro du magazine moto "L'Intégral" (petit frère de Moto Revue) est dans les bacs. Entre autres essais et dossiers, il y a un dossier sur une niche en voie d'expansion, les motos transformables et donc polyvalentes. A l'occasion de ce dossier, il y a 4 pages de dessins signés de ma main + la couverture avec les motos ci-dessus.

Les dessins vous plairont sûrement certes, mais je vous conseille quand même d'aller acheter le magazine qui fait aussi un sujet sur Troy Bayliss et l'histoire du Mondial Superbike, ainsi que sur les pilotages des pilotes Moto GP Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner et Pedrosa.

For a few days, the new issue of the french motorcycle magazine "L'Intégral" is in stores. Among other subjects, there is a 9 pages article about tomorrow's modular bikes, with my sketches all over it (and on the cover of the mag too).

Aujourd'hui, j'ai commencé une Renault Turbo, mythique F1 des années 70-80. Tout le monde connait la superbe bataille entre Arnoux et Villeneuve à Dijon-Prenois. Voilà donc la voiture de René Arnoux. J'attaque la mise en couleur demain.

Today I started to sketch a Renault Turbo, very famous F1 from the late 70's. Everybody konws and remembers the famous battle between Arnoux and Villeneuve at Dijon-Prenois. So there is René Arnoux' car. I start the colouring tomorrow.

Il y aura un dossier sur plusieurs motos que pourraient faire les constructeurs japonais pour intégrer un secteur dans lequel ils n'ont actuellement pas de machines. Voila donc un aperçu de la Kawasaki (le premier dessin, j'en fais un 2e en ce moment).

2 dessins de plus pour Mercedes. Ce projet représente le plus gros de mon travail actuel, et surtout le plus important. Voilà donc le volant et le siège qui arborent tous deux un couverture tissu/cuir pour camoufler un aspect plus mécanique et métal brut en dessous pour leur structure.

Pas mal de dessins pour aujourd'hui comme j'ai repris le travail pour ma candidature chez Mercedes. Cette fois c'est plus Advanced Design et j'ai mis un moment à trouver un bon compromis entre nouveauté et tradition, sport et confort. D'autres arriveront demain.

A few sketches today as I started back to work on my application for Mercedes. This time it's more Advanced Design and it took me a while to achieve to get a good balance between modernism and tradition, sport and comfort. More to come.

Internet était HS ces derniers jours à la maison, donc je n'ai pas pu faire de mise à jour.

J'aimerais vous montrer la planche que j'ai envoyé à Mercedes avec les rendus finis, mais je ne sais pas si j'ai le droit, donc dans le doute je préfère m'abstenir.

Voilà donc aujourd'hui plusieurs articles qui vont se suivre et servir un peu de didacticiel sur ma façon de mettre en couleur mes dessins. Je travaille sur la vue avant de ma moto. Jsuqu'à présent j'ai fait tout ce qui doit être gris ou noir sur la moto. D'habitude je finis par le sombre pour pouvoir cacher d'éventuelles erreurs faites plus tôt, et parce que commencer avec le noir ne permet aucune erreur, mais le challenge m'amuse bien.

Internet waw down the last few days so there has been no update recently. I'd love to show the presentation board I made for Mercedes with all the final renderings, but I don't know if I'm allowed to, so in doubt I don't.

So today there will be several updates following each other which will be like a tutorial of my sketching and rendering techniques. I'm working on the 3/4 front view of my bike. Until now, I've done all the grey/black parts, which is tricky as it doesn't forgive any mistake. Usually I start with lighter colors and finish with the dark ones, which can let you hide some mistakes made earlier, but I like the challenge so I do the opposite!

J'ai oublié de poster mon dessin hier, donc pour aujourd'hui je vous montre la Porsche RSK sur laquelle je continue de chercher de nouvelles idées. Vient ensuite un des véhicules de la future BD Landspeed Racers, à moteur en étoile, encore beaucoup de choses à faire évoluer dessus mais l'idée est là.

I forgot to post my sketche yesterday, so today I show you the Porsche RSK on which I'm still searching for new ideas. Then comes one of the vehicles of the future comic-book Landspeed Racers, with a star engine, still a lot of things to improve but the overall idea is here.

Depuis quelques jours je n'ai pas tenu le blog à jour, je m'en excuse. J'ai travaillé pour un projet confidentiel auquel je participe depuis plusieurs mois et qui devrait être dévoilé à la presse en 2010.

J'ai également travaillé sur ma moto, que je devrais être en mesure de construire d'ici quelques mois, voire quelques semaines. En voilà donc une illustration assez léchée la représentant dans son look actuel. Je vais voir mais je retoucherai peut être le réservoir et l'arrière de la moto s'il est possible de créer de nouveaux feux ou pas.

For a few days I haven't updated the blog, I apologize for that. I was working on a confidential project I've been working on for a few months. It should be introduced to the press in 2010, hopefully.

I also worked on my bike project, which I may have the opportunity to build within a few months, or even weeks, who knows. The design is almost final, some changes may be done on the fuel tank and the tail, depending on if I can produce my own lights or not.

Pas de sketch du jour pour hier, c'était mon anniversaire et j'étais dans la famille...

Le sketch du jour fait partie de mon projet pour le nouveau concours de design de Local Motors pour la ville de San Francisco. Je fais un shooting brake d'un nouveau genre, répartissant le volume de stockage un peu partout dans le véhicule pour se débarasser de la silhouette typiquement lourde et cocasse de cette catégorie de véhicule.

Les roues sont de grand diamètre et fines pour réduire les efforts et ainsi consommer moins d'énergie, laquelle étant l'électricité.

Today's dailyt sketch is part of my project for the new Local Motors design competition for San Francisco. I'm working on a new vision of a shooting brake, relocating all the storage space around the vehicle to get rid of the not sosexy silhouette of this kind of vehicle.

Wheels have a very big diameter and are very thin in order to reduce friction and use less electricity, the power source of the vehicle.

Le sketch du jour est une vieille Gilera 500cc de GP, maquette que possédait mon père et qui a bercé mon enfance. La moto date des années 1950, mais j'ai eu du mal à déterminer son année exacte. Si certains savent, qu'ils n'hésitent pas à se manifester.

Today's daily sketch is a 500cc Gilera race bike from the late 50s. Drawn from a scale model owned by my dad, I saw it everyday of holidays at my grandparents' during my childhood, lots of memories :)

If anyone knows the exact year of the bike, let me know.
