Daily Sketch - Colard C12-R

J'ai enfin repris la 3D de la moto, vu qu'il faut que j'avance comme la maquette échelle 1 va bientôt être commencée aux USA. 3 heures de travail environ, voila la tête de fourche quasiment finie (manque un rayon tout autour de la pièce).

I've finally restarted the 3D of the bike as I've met a guy who's going to build it, and the full size model is starting pretty soon in USA. About 3 hours of work on the front fairing but it's mostly done (one filer all around the part remaining to be done).

News and sketch

Plusieurs semaines sont passées et pas une seule nouvelle, pas un seul nouveau dessin, rien...

Pourtant j'ai été actif! J'ai travaillé, dessiné, déménagé (deux fois), commencé un nouveau job...

Donc voilà un peu quelques news :

- je ne travaille plus chez Land Rover (Juillet - Septembre 2010)

- j'ai quitté l'Angleterre pour repasser chez mes parents

- j'ai vendu ma Camaro achetée chez les britons

- j'ai accepté un nouvel emploi chez Opel

- j'ai déménagé en Allemagne, à Dietzenbach, et mon job est à Rüsselsheim

- j'ai eu en cadeau un nouvel ordinateur pour avancer les 3D d'un de mes projets qui va bientôt être prototypé

- j'ai dessiné plusieurs motos pour le magazine l'Intégral (parution Septembre 2010)

Voici donc les principales nouvelles de ces dernières 6 semaines. Ah si, j'oubliais, j'ai fêté mes 24 ans, et les 50 de mon Papa également (encore Joyeux Anniversaire!).

Donc je recommence une série de posts avec des dessins par un portrait vu que je veux travailler mes personnages sur lesquels j'ai de grosses lacunes. Comme je tiens beaucoup au modèle je vais essayer de ne pas rater le rendu...

Several weeks went by and no news, no sketch, nothing... But it's not I haven't done anything! I've worked, sketched, moved (twice) and worked at a new job...

So here are a few news :

- I don't work anymore at Land Rover (July-September 2010)

- I've left England to come by my parents house

- I've sold the Camaro I bought in UK

- I got an offer from Opel, that I accepted

- I've moved to Germany, in Dietzenbach, with my job at Rüsselsheim

- I got a new computer as a gift to work and finish some 3D for a project I've developed and it's going to prototyping

- I've sketches several motorbikes for a bike magazine (l'Intégral, in stores in September/October 2010, in France)

So those are the most recent news of the past 6 weeks. Ah yes I almost forgot, I also turned 24 (didn't celebrate it much though) and celebrated my father's 50th anniversary (Happy Birthday again dad!).

So I'm starting a new series of articles with sketches, the first one being a portrait as I'm not very good at sketching human beings so I practice. I shouldn't screw it as the model fo the portrait is very important for me :)

Daily Sketch - Re20 Turbo

Le dessin du jour date de la semaine derniere en fait, sketché tres vite un soir pendant que mon colloc bossait son diplome. RE20 Turbo, histoire de travailler un peu un theme que vous allez revoir souvent.

The daily sketch is actually from last week, sketched very quickly in an evening while my flatmate was working his diploma. RE20 Turbo, to work and improve on a subject you'll see often in the next months.

J'ai profité d'une petite pause au travail pour sketcher par dessus ma 3D histoire de vérifier que tout fonctionne toujours.

I've taken advantage of a break at work to sketch over my 3D to check that everything works fine.

Daily sketch - Toyota Estima 2.0

Il y a quelques années, j'ai fait un projet lors d'un stage chez Toyota (visible sur mon site, pour les curieux). Je le reprends pour en refaire le design et l'améliorer, pour ensuite aller plus loin avec D, vidéo, animation, etc.

A few years back, I did a project at Toyota during an internship. The curious people can check it out on the website. I'm resketching it to improve it and then move to the next stage with 3D, vidéo and animation.

Petit bonus: d'ici quelques jours j'aurai une nouvelle voiture (fonctionnelle j'entends parce que la elle marche franchement mal...) donc je posterai quelques photos.

Little bonus: in a few days I'll post photos of my new car, as soon as I get it running properly ...

C'est un dessin en cours, commencé le mois dernier. Comme je n'ai rien d'autre à montrer, je me suis dit que ça intéresserait certains de voir étape par étape comment je fais ça...

Some news, and apologies

Salut tout le monde. Je tiens d'abord à m'excuser pour le gros manque de dessins sur le blog depuis bientôt deux mois. J'ai des trucs un peu partout qui sont en cours de réalisation, mais je ne finis rien.

J'ai commencé mon premier vrai job de designer auto au studio Advanced de Land Rover, en Angleterre. Vu que le planning est bien chargé, je n'ai quasiment plus de temps pour dessiner mes projets persos, mais je tâcherai quand même de poster de nouvelles choses prochainement.

La moto, notamment, avance tranquillement avec la phase 3D qui est en cours.

Hi everyone. I first want to apologize for the lack of news and sketches recently on the blog. I have things started everywhere and no time to finish them, or no patience maybe.

I started my first real designer's job at the Land Rover Advanced Design Studio in UK. As the planning is really full, that doesn't leave me much time to work on my own personal projects but I will try to post some new things in a near future.

The bike, for example, goes forward slowly in 3D phase.

Pas de sketches depuis quelques temps parce que je bossais sur pas mal d'autres projets, et en même temps je n'avais pas trop de motivation pour dessiner.

Voilà donc la moto, avec un rapide profil histoire de juste montrer un peu les volumes en 15' de travail environ.

No sketches for a while as I was working on other projects, and at the same time i lost some of my sketching motivation.

Here is a quick side-view of the bike just to show the volumes in 15' of work approximately.

Voila la couleur est finie. J'ai mis pas mal de temps pour arriver à un résultat propre et bien brillant, et aussi pour choisir la couleur de la moto.

Here is the finished coloured sketch. It took me some time to render it properly and have a good shiny finish, and also to choose the bike's colour!

Le sketch du jour sera mis en couleur demain, c'est la C12-R. J'ai repris un petit peu le design de l'arrière pour l'affiner et fait un nouvel échappement. Les jantes deviennent spécifiques également.

Today's sketch is about the C12-R, in colour tomorrow. I've reworked a bit the design of the tail and the exhaust pipes to make them thinner. The rims are now specific too.

2 semaines sans dessins, et sans une véritable excuse. Je n'ai juste pas eu trop de temps pour dessiner. Je vais essayer de me rattraper. Voila donc un dessin d'un vieux camion Mack qu'un ami (Daffy) restaure actuellement pour tirer tout un paquet de muscle cars sur des courses de drag :)

2 weeks and no sketches, and furthermore no excuses. I just didn't get enough time to sketch. I'll try to catch up! Here is a sketch of an old Mack truck that my friend Daffy is restoring to bring a bunch of muscle cars to the drag strips :D
